Basic Information
The Course Focuses On Experimental Design and Analysis of Data Relevant to Life Sciences in General and Biotechnology and Food Engineering in Particular. It Presents Statistical Methods For Decision-making in Those Fields. Specifically, The Course Will Cover The Following Topics # Review On Probability Distributions, Descriptive Statistics, Point Estimation, Hypothesis Testing and Inferences, Analysis of Variance (anova), Simple Linear, Nonlinear and Multiple Regression, Distribution-free Procedures, Design of Experiments, Quality Control Methods. Learning Outocmes# By The End of The Course, The Student Will Be Able To# - Perform Exploratory Analysis of Data By Graphical and Other Means, Summarize Data Visually and Numerically. - Use Appropriate Statistical Methodologies and Concepts, Formulate A Problem in Statistical Terms, and Carry Out a Variety of Formal Inference Procedures. - Plan Experiments While Considering Statistical Modules, Sufficient Sample Size, and Avoiding Potential Statistical "pitfalls". - Create Quantitative Models to Solve Real Experimental Problems Across Different Domains and in Particular in Biological Research. - Use of Statistical Software For Computations With Data.
