Physical Approaches For Three Dimensional Mapping Of Objects and Scenes, Mainly By Light. The Approaches Are Based On Triangulation, Depth of Field, Structured Light, Coherence, Scattering , Diffraction Analysis, Shading, Shadows, Polarization, Aperture Engineering, Fluorescence, Time of Flight and Tomography. The Scenes Span Scales# Microscopic, Through Macroscopic, to Astronomic. Approaches For Three Dimensional Display. Learning Outcomes# Following The Course The Students Will 1. Be Familiar With Principles and Approches For Passive and Active Measurments of Object Range. 2. Be Familiar With Principles And Approches For Passive and Active Measurments of Object Slopes (gradients) and Three Dimensional Shapes. 3. Be Familiar With Principles and Approches For Sensing Volumetric Objects (e.g. Tomography). 4. Be Familiar With Principles and Approches For Creating Visual Effects Exploited For Three Dimensional Display. 5. Understand The Limitations and Advantages of The Different Approaches.
