Basic Information
The Course Deals With The Main Theories and Approaches in Mathematics Education. Among The Subject Learned# Philosophy of Mathematics, The Cenral Theories of Learning and Their Relation to Mathematics Teaching, Cognitively Demanding Instruction, Difficulties and Common Challenges in The Learning and Teachingof Mathematics. Students Will Be Exposed to Different Practices in The Teaching of Mathematics And Will Discuss Their Implications. Learning Outcomes# at The End of The Course The Students Will# 1. Be Familiar With The Main Theories Underlying Mathmeatics Teaching, Among Them# Behaviorism, Cognitive Theories, and Socio-cultural Theories._ 2. Know to Prepare a Lesson Plan and Connect It to The Learned Theories. 3. Be Able to Analyze Lessons and Learning Opportunities Based On The Theories Discussed in The Course.
