This Course Examines Design-based Research in Education As A Sociocultural Approach That Supports Collaborative Thinking And Building of Learning Environments Systematically, While Considering Needs and Desires of Diverse Learners and Diverse Communities In Society. The Course Will Explore Major Design Research Approach(es) Through Examining The History of Design Research, Defining Objects Of Design in Education and Human-computer Interaction (hci), Using Design Methods to Conduct to Think of Diverse Learners And Communities, and Examples of Participatory Research Across Various Settings With Youth, Teachers, Communities. The Course Will Explore The Following Aspects# Defining Design Research, Objects of Design Process and Outcomes, Work With Diverse Stakeholders and Subjects, The Interaction Between Subjects and Artifacts in The Design Process, Values in Design Process, Equity and Inequities in The Design Process, and Illustrating of Conjecture Maps For Learning Process And Its Outcomes. Learning Outcomes# at The End of The Course The Studetns Will Know# 1. Planning Design Research Project Through The Lens of Various Sociocultural Theoretical Approaches While Considering Ethics, 2. Explaining Aims and Processes of Design-based Research Projects In Various Contexts (e.g., Design-based Research For Collaborative Learning, Design-based Research of Educational Technology Implementations). 3. Identifying The Needs and Desires of Various Communities And Stakeholders Involved in The Learning Process. Implementations). 3.
