Basic Information
Interaction Between Light and Biomolecules. Photophysical And Photochemical Processes. The Electronic Structure of Biological Chromophores, Environment Influences. Coherent and Incoherent Light Absorption and Energy Transfer. Electron Transport. Photosynthesis At Atomic Resolution. Vision, Spin Coherence in Navigation and Signaling Processing. Utilizing Biological Solar Energy Conversion And Artificial Photosynthesis. Learning Outcomes The Students Will Obtain a Good Understanding of Biological Systems That Interact and Are Activated By Light, at The Electronic And Molecular Levels, Leading to Physiological Processes On The Level Of Cells and Organisms. The Students Will Be Exposed to Phenomenon That Exhibit Stable Correlation of Excited States That Lead to The Conclusion That Quantum Effects Come Into Play# in Photosynthesis (energy and Electron Transfer), Vision (signal Transduction) And Magnetic Spin Phenomenon. The Students Will Obtain a Good Knowledge Of The Principles of The Biological Systems and Quantum Phenomenon That Will Allow Them to Understand Advanced Literature.
