Linear Theories of Static Behavior of Elastic Thin-walled Beams, Plates and Shells Will Be Studied, Emphasizing Their Importance To Aerospace Structures. The General Approach Will Be Starting From The 3d Elasticity Equations and Reducing Them to The Equations of The Structure. Special Emphasis Will Be Given to Solution Algorithms. Learning Outcomes# At The End of The Course, The Student Will Be Able#_ 1. O Solve Problems in Thin-walled Structures With an Analytic Approach (e.g., Problems in Torsion of Rods, Problems in Bending Of Rectangular Plates and Problems of Membrane Shells of Revolution). 2. .to Write Computer Programs For The Solution of Problems In Thin-walled Structures According to The Studied Algorithms. 3.to Recognize The Equations That Commercial Codes For Structural Analysis (e.g., Finite Element Software) Solve, in Order to Be A Smart User and to Be Able to Modify and Extend These Codes.
