In The Specialization Project, Students Work Singly Or in Small Groups to Engage in Research and Development Activity, Building Deep Expertise in One Technical Area, and Providing a Deep Understanding Of Innovation in That Area. Student Teams Work With Faculty and Industry Advisors to Understand The Scope of a Problem, Then Address It Via New Technological Innovation. Projects Can Use Different Methodologies# Building/engineering Machine Learning, Algorithms, Data Analysis, User Research, Hci and More. in General, The First Semester Students Take The Course Could Be Spent Doing More Formative, Explorative Work That Exposes and Explores Needs, Or Pursue Some Lower-level Techniques For an Already-understood Need. in The Second Semester, Students Would Typically Either Move Towards a More Concrete Implementation Or Explore Other Alternatives, Though It May Still Involve Formative Work. The Second Semester Must Involve Implementation/building of Some Technology. Each Project Is Accompanied By Two Advisors, a Primary and a Secondary Advisor, and A Potential Industry Advisor. Learning Outcomes# 1.developing Technical Innovation Via Engagement in Research Activities. 2. Worknig And Solving Open-ended Problems. 3. Team Coordination and Work.
