Opics# Surface Forces (dlvo Theory) Between Colloidal Particles (nano- and Micro-particles) and Applications to The Adhesion Energy And Surface Tension of Solids and Liquids, Energy Diagrams For The Stability of Suspensions and Emulsions, Kinetic Equations For Coagulation in Suspensions and Emulsions As Function of Surface Forces, Temperature, Particle Size, and The Viscosity of The Carrier Liquid. Learning Results# at The End of The Course The Student Will Be Capable To# A. Calculate Surface Forces Due to Molecular Effects, B. Estimate Qualitatively (using Energy Diagrams) and Quantitatively (using Kinetic Models) The Processes That Take Place During The Collision of Colloidal Particles and The Stability Time Of Suspensions and Emulsions (shelf Life). in Addition, The Student Will Be Able to Analyze The Efficiency of Particle Separation Processes.
