Basic Information
Overview of Backend Design Stages and Corresponding Optimization Problems. General Approaches to Solutions of "hard" Problems. Design Partitioning and Floorplanning. Power Delivery Networks. Clock Tree Synthesis. Design Placement. Global and Detailed Routing. Timing Modeling and Signoff. Circuit and Interconnect Optimizations. Learning Outcomes# The Students Will Be Exposed to The Area of Vlsi Physical Design Automation. As a Result of The Course a Student# 1. Will Know How to Describe The Vlsi Design Flow and Circuit Representations, and Will Be Familiar With Approaches For Solving "hard" Design Problems, Relevant Algorithms, Heuristics and Data Structures. 2. Will Develop Insights to Vlsi Physical Design Automation. 3. Will Work With Industrial Design Tools For Vlsi Physical Design, And Write Automation Code As a Part of Homework Assignments.
