Basic Information
The Course Aims to Develop Advanced Receptive and Productive Skills Essential For English Academic Communication. Reading and Analyzing Academic Texts, Enriching Vocabulary and Practicing Grammatical Structures Is Complemented By Watching and Discussing Videos. Following The Learning Phase of Each of 6 Course Modules, The Students Will Express Their Opinion, Develop and Compare Arguments, Making Use of The Acquired Skills. Learning Outcomes# By The End Of The Course, The Students Will Have Attained English Proficiency Corresponding to The B2 Level of The Common European Framework of Reference For Languages. They Will Be Able To# 1. Read English Academic Texts of Different Genres in Various Scientific Fields and Extract Main Ideas and Details Across Different Comprehension Levels - Both Explicit and Implicit. 2. Understand Spoken English in Various Scientific Fields, Extract And Summarize The Main Ideas and Supporting Details Across Different Comprehehnsion Levels - Both Explicit and Implicit. 3. Integrate The Different Information Sources Into Their Own Presentation, Employing Their Critical Thinking. 4. Express Themselves Spontaneously, Fluently and Coherently On Scientific Topics Using Conventions of Describing Mechansims, Processes, Cause and Efect Relations, Making Comparisons, Presenting Information Displayes Ingraphs, Pointing Out Advantages and Drawbacks And Expressing Their Opinions Based On Sientific Facts and Phenomena.
